Sister posts half-brother’s heartfelt note online after he learned they’re not fully blood-related
Sometimes there is an exception to the rule, and when it’s said that blood is thicker than water, this is exactly where the “exception” comes in. This truth is nothing short of miraculous, as can be observed in this sweet note penned by a half-brother to his sibling sister.
Pamela Lara, 18, a dancer from Houston, and her brother Jared Escamilla, 17, have always considered each other siblings. They were raised together and share a close bond.
Jared discovered, to his surprise, that they are not 100 percent blood-related. They are half-siblings. No doubt it must have come as quite a shock to the teen.
One afternoon, Pam came home and found a note addressing her from Jared together with some of her favorite snacks.
When Pam read what Jared had to tell her, his words went straight to her heart. She snapped a photo and posted it on Twitter.
The note read:
“I just wanted to let you know how much I love you I don’t care what people say you are always going to be my sister my full blooded sister you are the best thing that happened to me I love you with all my heart thank you for helping me on my worst and thank you for leading me the right way I will always be there for you just like you always been there for me I love you.
With love, your annoying brother.”
Her tweet immediately went viral garnering 60,000 likes with retweets leaving internet users in tears.
With that, Pam posted more photos of herself with her dear brother.
According to http://www.dailymail.co.uk/, Pam told Femail: “My brother knew I wasn’t ready to talk about us not being full siblings, so he wrote it instead.”
“Instead of breaking us apart, it made us even closer. He even tells me he feels bad for joking around that I was the adopted one in the family because I was different than everyone else.”
“But despite all of that, I believe blood does not define family. And I have never seen him any differently,” Pam shared.
Among the many people who replied to Pam’s tweet was supermodel Naomi Campbell.
Hundreds of families came forward and opened their hearts as Pam’s story really seemed to awaken an emotive response.
One follower wrote: “When my little sister found out our dad isn’t my biological dad she was so upset for me”
Pam explained to a follower later in a thread that the family secret was kept from her brother in order to shield him until he was mature enough to accept the reality.
She said, “I don’t think anyone is ever ready to bring it out.”
And herein lies the miracle: Natural affection is so phenomenal it transcends all boundaries whether they be of race, gender, or even blood! This brother and sister chose to be joined to one another in love.
